How long does my music take to go live on Spotify?

KushTunes releases typically appear on Spotify within 24-48 hours of submission. Apple Music takes 1-7 days, YouTube Music 1-3 days, and other stores vary. Submit at least one week ahead of any scheduled release date so every store can ingest before the launch.

Upload

Which audio file formats does KushTunes accept?

KushTunes accepts WAV, FLAC and 320kbps MP3 audio files. WAV or FLAC is recommended for stores that prefer lossless masters. Files must be stereo at 44.1kHz/16-bit minimum. Watermarked, demo-quality or up-converted MP3 files are rejected at submission.

Pricing

How much commission does KushTunes take?

KushTunes takes zero commission on streaming royalties on every plan. You keep 100% of what Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or any of the 30+ supported stores pays you. The per-release price covers delivery and lifetime hosting — see /pricing for current rates.

Payments

When do I get paid and what is the minimum payout?

KushTunes processes payouts on the 15th of each month for the prior month's earnings, with a $50 minimum payout threshold. Withdraw to mobile money (M-Pesa, Airtel Money, MTN MoMo) or to bank transfer in supported regions. Mobile money typically settles within 24 hours.

Distribution

Can I update my release after it goes live?

Metadata like track titles, artist names and descriptions can be updated through the dashboard. Audio files cannot be replaced after release — a new release submission is required. Cover artwork can be updated and propagates to most stores within 24-72 hours.

Distribution

What happens if my release gets rejected by a store?

If a streaming platform rejects a KushTunes release, the artist receives a notification with the rejection reason. Common causes are audio quality issues, metadata errors, or copyright/cover-song flags. Fix the flagged issue and resubmit through the dashboard at no extra cost.

Distribution

Does KushTunes provide ISRC and UPC codes?

Yes. KushTunes automatically generates a free ISRC code for each track and a free UPC code for each release. Codes are owned by the artist and can be carried to another distributor if you ever leave KushTunes. ISRC and UPC are required for streaming royalty tracking.

Legal

Can I distribute cover songs through KushTunes?

Yes, but cover-song distribution requires a mechanical license from the original songwriter's publisher. KushTunes can refer artists to partner licensing agencies such as Easy Song Licensing. The license must be in place before the release is submitted for store delivery.

Distribution

How do I remove my music from streaming platforms?

Open a takedown request from the KushTunes dashboard for the release. KushTunes submits notices to every store and most platforms remove the release within 7-14 days. Once taken down, royalties stop accruing but historical earnings remain payable to the artist.

Analytics

What analytics and reporting does KushTunes provide?

KushTunes provides per-release analytics including stream counts, revenue by platform and country, listener demographics, playlist placements and trend analysis. Data updates daily and is exportable as CSV. Analytics are included free on every plan with no additional cost.
